Winter Wonderment !

Hello friends,
Have you shoveled yourself out of the driveway from this last snow storm?
It seems to have passed through so many states, leaving  a wintry wonderland of white, fluffy, brrrrrrr... cold beauty for us to enjoy.

This is the N/E view from my front porch. I love the snow covered mountains.

The Sun just opening it's eyes to the blanket of snow that has softly fallen the night before ...

I wanted so badly to make a snowman or two, but I really wasn't up to the cold or frozen fingers. Instead, I made my way to the studio where it was warm and cozy.
I found some clay...
I made a snowman or two, or three... maybe five ;)

Snowman and Bunny Candy container/Holiday Decor

Lil' Snowman ornament.

I kept a few in the studio for finishing touches and  listed a few on Ebay. Today is the last day for adoption of these  Frosty Fellows. If you think they need to come live with you, click HERE .

if you have a desire to create a snowman without going out into the cold, then grab a package of Creative paperclay®

It's so easy & so much fun!

They also make super great keepsake gifts for the snowman collector on your list.

Sparkling Sweet Santa

Good morning, friends and fellow bloggers!
What a great day it is. December 1st. The Holiday season is here. I know this because we saw Santa himself come to town and he turned on all the Christmas lights. It was pure magic!

With the Holidays here, it's time to get crack-a-lackin' on those handmade gifts, right?

I wanted to do something different. Maybe a cute candy container filled with yummy sweets, but also something that can be used for years to come as Christmas decor.

So, with a little of this and a little of that and .........

a dollop of love and  glitter all over the house,

We have A Sparkly Sweet Santa Candy Box.

Wont he make a cute gift?
And, he was so easy to make.

Hope you have a magical Day!

Just Before Thanksgiving

Hello friends, How have you all been? I'm sure you've all been busy, busy preparing for the big feast. Me too,  but sadly I am very far behind schedule, gosh I haven't even done my Turkey Day shopping yet. That will for sure happen tomorrow ;)

Sometimes we just need a little me time, so instead of making a grocery list or cleaning out the fridge I chose to do something fun like putting up the tree! This year I am decorating the tree by myself. The little elves are not helping this year. Instead, they will be working  magic on their Mamas tree.

Here is a sneak peek of my tree. It is far from done, but is beautiful simple and plain. With the few twigs, pine cones and lights, it gives a warm and cozy ambiance to the space.
I think I will stop right here with the tree, It is perfect until after Thanksgiving.
Now I must skedaddle over to the oven, it's full of gingerbread house pieces. Another "me time" project, but one I am creating for you. I will reveal it to you in a few days... until then,  Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving.
May your day be filled with joy, laughter and good food among family and friends.

Snowman On The Old Fence

Hey All, Happy November! November already?
Yep, and I am now into Holiday mode... our little cottage  still  lingers of warm, and cozy Fall decor', but the studio is in full Winter Wonderment.

Before I became lost in the studio creating Christmas goodies for Ebay and making handmade gifts, I wanted to create a new addition to our Christmas decor'.
This was a great project!
It was fun.  In my opinion this is an easy project for a "Clay Newbie".

This Snowman is for my first Creative Paperclay® Tutorial for the Design Team.
He is created on an old found (in my yard) piece of weathered wood, using the fun and fabulous Creative Paperclay®
If you would like to create this little fella, roll up your sleeves  and come on over to
the Creative Paperclay® blog for my  Step-By-Step Tutorial! Here
If you need any help, please email me and I will answer any questions and help you along the way.

Thanks for visiting, I wish you a fun and creative day!

It is a gorgeous morning here. I have been sitting on some news to share with you.
If you would like to walk with me, I'll tell you along the way...

I'm so glad you wanted to walk with me. This is my favorite part of the path, slightly ducking as we walk under the willow tree. It's kinda magical, like your entering a secret forest. The wildlife is plenty here and the sounds are so peaceful.

I'm sure you can understand why I get inspired and like to create here.
Go ahead and get comfy in the chair.. just look at this lovely view. Go ahead, close your eyes and take in
a deep breath... ahhhh.. that nice, isn't it?
You are welcome to visit this little retreat anytime, but I would like to invite you to come down here with me
on November 3rd. for an art day.

I was one of the gals chosen for the New Paperclay® Design Team. I am so excited to work with the other talented gals on the team.
Each month I will be doing a step-by-step tutorial on one of my Paperclay® designs, and I would like to invite you to join me for some artistic fun... and a little nature ;)

Frank and Creative Paper Clay

Hello friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog, on this gorgeous Autumn Day!
I have my " Frank " to share with you, and I have also linked him up to the Creative Paper Clay October challenge and call for  the New Design Team.
Frank was not my original idea for the challenge, but I was a bit late in the game when i saw the challenge and call for the new design team. My idea was to show you how I make candy containers for all Holidays, using the wonderful "Creative Paper clay " but, Frankie will have to do.

I created Frank using the wonderful Creative paper clay. I used a paper mache' egg for my armature and molded the clay around it.

Then, the fun part begins.. the facial details... truly one of my favorite parts of sculpting, and Creative paper clay make sculpting a breeze. The clay is so easy to work with and manipulates very well.

I hope you enjoyed meeting FRANK !

I hope you will hop on over to the Creative Paper Clay Blog to see all the wonderful creations!

Getting Chilly Outside!

Good Morning!
Wow! It's been getting a bit Chilly outside the last couple days. We even had 5 minutes of snow yesterday afternoon. WHAT??? yep, it's true!

But, that isn't uncommon for Northern Utah... I've been working outside trimming my bushes and putting some of my decorations away before the snow comes. This cooler weather is much more pleasant to get yard work done, than it is in the blistering heat.

What do you think? Do you like working outside in your yard during the Fall season?

I hope to get our Halloween decorations up tomorrow. And if I do succeed, I will be sure to get pic's to share.

Besides tidying up the MacNaughtan Cottage grounds, I've been busy in my studio creating, The Good, The Bad and The down right Ugly!

Today, I'm sharing the "Good"  lol...

This cute Lil' Ghost (trick or Treater) is on Ebay Now.
He has been very well received by a few collectors. If you are interested or would just like to see more pics of this cite lil' guy you can click  HERE.

 Thanks for stopping by,

 Have a Blessid Day!

The Last Camping Trip of 2013'

Alan and I wanted to get one last camping trip in for this year. We couldn't have asked for better weather and scenery, it was just breathtaking!
This was where we camped. The leaves are starting to turn their brilliant colors, and very soon this will be a palette of Autumn glory.

We took our old girl Tessa with us, as we know this will be her last trip ever. She loves to go camping and though she is so very old and her health and old bones are failing her, she was so excited to go.
Behind Tessa you can see Lizzie's tail.. she is my lil' Chihuahua and she is not much of a camping gal.
Lizzie pretty much whined the whole trip. Lol..

Alan kept a  toasty fire going.
We ate  dutch oven stroganoff, we talked and  we laughed while sipping on some St. Chapels Special Harvest wine til late into the night.

The next morning we headed home with a bundle of Autumn leaves...for decorating.

I am looking forward to cutting some of my Aspen leaves when they turn yellow. I think they will be stunning tucked in with the oranges and reds..against the freshly painted Rockport Grey walls.

I tucked a few leaves in my newest thrift store find.
This is a Royal Copley Doe and Fawn vase. I only paid $1 for this treasure.. I was just tickled as I hadn't been thrifting for a while.
It was a wonderful couple of days :)

Today, on my work table I have a few witches that need some hair and a pointy hats... after the witches get some hair, its off to the garden to pick natures bounty, then maybe a little Fall decorating.

Do any of you like to go camping in the Fall? or maybe have a Fall picnic?
I'd love to hear about it :)

Take care,

Autumn & Halloween Goodies!

  Hello, and Happy Autumn!
I cant think of a better time to start blogging and creating again.

Don't you absolutely LOVE the Fall ?
I do!   It's my most favorite time of year.
We have had a rather long and hot summer... Lately though, it has cooled off in the mornings and evenings.
We've even had some rainy days. And finally, you can smell Fall in the air.

This past summer, hubby and I planted our first garden. We've  had some successes and some failures, and we've learned a grundle to take with us next year.
I wanted to share with you my most prized part of the garden.
Yes,yes I've always dreamed of a huge pumpkin patch..with so many pumpkins, that I could have an Autumn festival and invite all the kids near and far to pick their own pumpkin.. well....
after planting, RE-PLANTING and RE-PLANTING i did get a huge patch, but only 5 pumpkins.
the good Lord made sure I had just enough pumpkins for each one of my grankids.. Thank you Jesus!!!
And once again, I learned a grundle..

Besides caring for a garden,  Life has settled down enough for me to get lost in my dream again. Creating
one of a kind Holiday art. This JOL was so much fun to create and just today he made his debut on Ebay.

And whats Halloween without a Ghostly Ghoul ? This Ornament is also making his debut on Ebay.
Click here to see this Spooky Ghost.

I wish you all a most wonderful Autumn day :)

Spring & Summer Days...

We have had one of the most glorious Springs leading up to Summer, that I can ever remember.

Though, I have many irons in the fire, I've been taking her slow, and taking time to soak up the beauty around me.

I love to take my coffee breaks outside under the Big Maple sitting beside my new end table surrounding me in Begonias. This year was the first that I have planted this delicate and most gorgeous plant. It is now my favorite of all, and will always be in my garden in the years to come.

And what is a Spring/Summer day without a tasty treat?

Lemon Pie Bars called my name.... I do believe, I ate half a pan of Lemon Pie Bars under that big Maple, sitting beside my new end table gazing at the gorgeous Begonias... Gotta love the glorious days of Spring and Summer. * for the recipe, ALLRECIPES.COM/LEMON-PIE-BARS

Wishing you all a Gorgeous, Lazy Summer Day ;)

My Morning Walk

Good morning friends, Wowzers!
I hope you are all doing well. I've been out of the blog loop for what seems to be forever. After 10 months, my grand babies were able to reunite with their mother, just yesterday. It was a joyous day for my daughter and her babies.. This morning I felt strange ? My gosh, I felt like I should be running around getting my grandson ready for school, bribing his little sister to get her shoes on so we could take him to school... But, there was no morning chaos, just quiet. It was a bit to quiet for me and I knew if I sat around to long my heart would start aching for those cute lil' grand babies.

So I went for a walk down in our own little slice of heaven.

I listened to the birds converse with one another, chirping and chattering.

I sat for a minute to review my, to do in the garden list.

Then, I meandered back up the path.
When I reached the top I looked back at the beautiful
slice of heaven my hubby created for us.

Now I'm ready to go do a little gardening!

Wishing you all a fantastic day!
