October Wreath

Happy Sunday! Yesterday morning I woke early, 2:30 Am early... I do that several times a month, I think it's the remnants of Baker's hours I kept for 17 years. Anyway, I had a strong gray wild hair to create. The only problem was all my paints were downstairs, and I DID NOT want to wake the young*un's that early. So, I rummaged through drawers and all the nooks and cranny's upstairs, and by golly I found a treasure trove of dyed coffee filters I had stashed away, a grapevine wreath that is my mother's from a previous craft day ( I'll pay her back) and some poinsettia silk flowers, and a scrap piece of fabric.

And look at what all that made! Yes, it's a October wreath...A perfect addition for the front porch Halloween decor that will be going up this week.

I remember when I dyed the coffee filters and was going for black, but ended up with multi colors of deep grays, purples and greens. But,for this wreath it ended up perfect!
I added a circle of orange fabric in the center of the coffee filter flowers for
contrast and a pop of color.

then, finally i added the poinsettia leaves here and there.. some I added to the ends of the curvy vines that extended out from the wreath. So there you have it.. What I do at 2:30 Am :)

I am still trying to figure out this new Blogger thing so, if this post and pics don't look quite right, please bare with me til' I get'er figured out...

Have a wonderful day :)

Happy Fall

                                     Welcome, first day of Fall

Some of you may remember that I posted this awesome list that I found on Pinterest last year.
Our family did many of the things listed on the  list, and had oodles of fun.
I thought, I would post it again to "Welcome Fall", and share with you, if you'd  like to do the Fall Bucket list.

The Pajama Cookout

Hello friends,
Every Tuesday evening Alan and I try to have a "just for fun party" for the kids. When $$$ are tight, and going out on the town for fun is nowhere in sight, then use your imagination!
This has actually been a big hit for the kids, and they really look forward to the next week.
Last week we had an Alien party. We were loaded up with Pop Rocks, Glow sticks and plenty of Alien treats.
And, this week we had a Pajama cookout. We roasted hot dogs & marshmallows down at our fire pit by the pond. Tiffanie and Jayda joined us for the party, and we all had a splendid time.
At the end of the evening, Grandpa spoiled us with Dutch oven Black Forest cake.
Plain and simple fun !

Happy Monday Morning, Beautiful Friends!
I hope your weekend was fulfilling and fun.

My weekend was SUPER- SIZED FUN!
I spent fun times with family
and as always, it warms and fulfills my heart.
We went to the annual Peach Days Shindig , ate lots of good food, sent the kids screaming on rides and gave the Carnies all our money just to get that magnificent stuffed toy as seen through the eyes of a young tot.
On Sunday we went over to my Brother and Sis' for some Ravioli Lasagna..
Oh, can i just tell you... Mmmm, M, good!
At the we crack of early, Sunday morning, I made something I've been wanting to make for a long while now.
I'm sure all you lovelies have seen or made these little bites of goodness?
"Peanut Butter Energy Bites"

Don't they look Divine?
Go ahead, have one.. they are great with your morning coffee.

There were so many recipes out there for these little energy balls, much of them being the same, with just slight differences.
So i got the basics and tweaked it to come up with a recipe to my liking.
*Peanut Butter Energy Bites*
In a mixing bowl add:
1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
1 cup quick cooking oats
( by adding the 2 oats, it gives a perfect texture)

1/2 cup ground flax seed
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 & 1/3 cup toasted coconut
give her a good mix, then add;

2/3 cup honey
1 cup peanut butter
2 tsp. vanilla
give her another good mix,
and wallah, you have your base for your energy bites!

This next step is the fun and creative step.
This is where you add all the yummy goodness.
you can add nuts, raisins, any kind of dried fruit, chocolate chips, etc.
after adding your favorite goodies,
roll into balls, place in an airtight container and refrigerate.
The energy bites stay good and fresh in your fridge for several weeks, IF they don't get gobbled up in the first

I made two batches, 1 with chocolate chips, and the other batch with chopped figs and raisins.
Let me just say.. the fig and raisin won the votes in my household.

This is a healthy and most delicious on the go breakfast or snack.
I sure hope you will try them.
Thanks for visiting ,
Have a great day!

big relaxing' sigh, ahhhhhhhh......
Hello friends,
How have you all been?
Here, the past couple of mornings have been a wonderful prelude to the delicious Autumn months just barely ahead of us.
Have you enjoyed that same coolness in the air? or maybe the magical Autumn smells that tickle your nose.
I had the wonderful pleasure to wake up early to cuddle up outside with a cozy blanket and a fresh brewed cup of coffee by candlelight, under our big Maple.
There is just something so richly magical and satisfying to be able, to have that special time to myself in the mornings. I can think clearly, and get ready for great day.
The past few weeks has been delightfully crazy
organizing, getting appointments for the kids and so forth. I am now to the end of my to do list, and I lived through it.
My darling new studio is now a darling little princess bedroom for my granddaughter Rylee.
However, I created myself a very nice studio space in the family room,
which I used for the first time the other evening and it worked perfectly.
I have made a few slight changes regarding my art and selling.
I no longer belong to any artists groups through Ebay, yet I will still be selling my work on ebay.
I will sell 2 places, here on my blog and on Ebay only. My blog will be where I advertise my work for sale as usual.
It's been a tough road for me, to get back to creating and selling.
I even was going to throw in the towel for good as it seemed so many obstacles were blocking the road.
It boils down to one thing, get back to creating and selling, go back to school or work.
Well has this been a tough decision, because I sometimes harbor self doubt in myself.
My wise daughter Tiffy said to me the other day..
" Mom, i can see that art, school and work weighs heavy on your mind everyday.
Try writing down your long and short term goals, now write down everything you would do for "FREE".
NOW, go for it, with determination and consistency, don't get side tracked, just move forward doing what you love."
She is so right, and SO SMART. Thanks Tiffy ;)

Have a beautiful weekend!
