Between you and me..,

                                                   Dear Diane,

                                          between you and me,

                                                    I'm ready..,

ready to tuck 2012' beneath a quiet blanket of snow,
                                   beneath my favorite pine tree,
where she can rest peacefully for all of eternity.

Life's lessons for me in the year 2012'
came swift, and sometimes with an edge
that were so cold, and so very sharp.

                                      life's lessons were learned,
and so many left me with a bigger heart.

                                          now I'm ready to say........

                                            Thank you,  2012'

and now you may be on your way,

to take a long and much needed nap, forever, and ever on this

                                     most glorious Winters day.

Wishing all of my Family, friends and visitors just passing through, a wonderful New Year!

                           Happy, Happy

We Can Build A Snowman...

Hi friends,
I thought maybe you would like a peek of these little guys before I run them up to the shop.
Snowmen are quickly becoming my favorite to create .

When there's no snow on the ground, we can build a snowman with paper clay! But, I still can't wait for the SNOW to arrive to build a " authentic Snowman".

     Happy day after Thanksgiving Friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with all the fixins' of big laughter, warm hugs and full tummies.
This morning as I was sipping my coffee, I was thinking about a short conversation I had with my daughter yesterday. I had ran to the store to pick up some cream cheese for her. When I stopped by to drop it off,she thanked me for going to the store, I told her that I had forgot a few things too, then I mentioned to her, when I was a little girl, not a store or gas station in sight was open on Thanksgiving day. (except maybe for 7-11). She looked at me puzzled, then she replied, " OH WOW! "
The rest of the day, I couldn't stop thinking about how the holidays were when I was a child, and how much has changed since then...

Through the years I have enjoyed and indulged in all the crazy fun Black Friday frenzies, the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

But this year I think I'd like to slow down a bit and, lean towards this...

Yes, this... A perfectly simple, Holiday Season.

And,  drink LOTS of this :)

A Sad Day...

Indeed, this past Friday was a sad day for the Twinkie loving American.

A yummy snack that's been around since before my mom was born,
and has been deliciously enjoyed by the American, is no more....

                                 An American icon, GONE!

But, more importantly, what about those 18,500 jobs that were lost?

Well, I can empathize with each and everyone of those dedicated workers, as my husband was one of them.

It is scary times in America right now, with so many out of work.
As for my Husband and I we strongly believe and know that we'll  be okay. As my mom would say, "When one door closes, another door will open".
I think of that quote often with much hope and faith.

Now, I surely don't want to leave this post on a gloomy note, and remember that door I was talking about? Well, it is, at least i believe, squeaking open just a bit.
On the 12th of November my sis-in- law and I went in together on a booth at an arts and craft shop here in our town.
I am so pleased and every bit grateful at how well we are doing.
Now that my hubby has a little extra time on his hands, he will once again create those fabulous carved Santa's and treasures for eBay and the shop.

All I can say is, we will smile and move forward :)

Have a most wonderful Sunday!

A Pumpkin &Treats

 Hi friends,
this is a fun, festive and easy project that makes a cute centerpiece for your Halloween treat table, and the kids can do it!
Kasen did one for his show & teach at school.

                                             You need a pumpkin...

A sharpie, or if you want to get fancy some craft paint.

                                            A toothpick or two...

Draw or paint a face on your pumpkin, then pre-poke holes with your toothpick, then insert your suckers, and wallah.... a JOL with Sucker hair!

Just 2 more days until HALLOWEEN!!!! YAY!

Have a fantastic day ;)

Mr. Skelly

Happy Saturday friends!
Are you all getting ready for Halloween night?
I cant believe how fast it has snuck up on us! My grand kids dad, picked them up last night for a Halloween carnival at Kasen's school. I forgot how much fun it was getting kids ready for Halloween, and just to think that I get to do it again this Wednesday. YAY!!!

Do you dress up for Halloween?

A Ghost, Goblin or Witch? Maybe a Skeleton, perhaps?

Or, do you have your own Halloween party?
With spooky Halloween decor, and temptacious sweets and treats galore?
I love Halloween parties! We like to have one every year. More like an open house on Halloween night, with plenty of food and fun.
We missed last year, but this year we are planning on having a little something.
Mr. Skelly said he may be late to the party as he's all tied up over on Ebay
in fact, he said he may be headed to another party???
If you would like Mr. Skelly to join your party, then just simply click here.
and to get ready for Christmas?
I have some Santa ornaments just listed
on ebay, with FREE shipping!
Hope you all have a Happy weekend!

Snowmen & Dominos

Good Sunday Morning to all :)
And what a beautiful one it is here in Northern Utah. I have another creation to share...

About a month ago, Alan and I went to a swap meet with my Brother and Sis-in-law. I was so excited when I came upon a box of old domino's, and I was even more excited when the fella told me the price of $ 3.00 I believe there (were) is 96 super nice domino's in that box.

I've seen many artists and crafters make them into some really, really cute artsy pendants.
What I really wanted to do with them was to create sets of 3 ornaments and sell them for a low, low price on Ebay.
Yesterday, I listed 2 sets and they were gone within 5 minutes of listing them.( That was the fastest sale in my whole life of selling on ebay ).

This set is what I have listed now on ebay. It is a buy-it-now for the low price of  $ 8.00 with FREE shipping.
They also make a great little extra to attach to your Christmas gifts.

Thanks so much for your visit ;)

A Little Inspiration

While taking a walk with my daughter and grand kids one cozy Autumn evening, I noticed beautimus pieces of driftwood scattered here and there.
I  enjoy looking at all the curious shapes and sizes, but this small piece of old wood surely screamed Santa!!!

So, whats a creative girl to do? I surely couldn't pass up this moment of inspiration, so I scooped up the little piece of wood and tossed it into my bag.

A few bits of clay, a little paint and wallah!!!! It's Santa Claus :)
I love those beautiful and inspiring walks :)

This driftwood Santa is listed on Ebay with a low starting bid of .99 cents.
if interested you can visit eBay here

thanks for stopping by today, I hope your day is great!

October Wreath

Happy Sunday! Yesterday morning I woke early, 2:30 Am early... I do that several times a month, I think it's the remnants of Baker's hours I kept for 17 years. Anyway, I had a strong gray wild hair to create. The only problem was all my paints were downstairs, and I DID NOT want to wake the young*un's that early. So, I rummaged through drawers and all the nooks and cranny's upstairs, and by golly I found a treasure trove of dyed coffee filters I had stashed away, a grapevine wreath that is my mother's from a previous craft day ( I'll pay her back) and some poinsettia silk flowers, and a scrap piece of fabric.

And look at what all that made! Yes, it's a October wreath...A perfect addition for the front porch Halloween decor that will be going up this week.

I remember when I dyed the coffee filters and was going for black, but ended up with multi colors of deep grays, purples and greens. But,for this wreath it ended up perfect!
I added a circle of orange fabric in the center of the coffee filter flowers for
contrast and a pop of color.

then, finally i added the poinsettia leaves here and there.. some I added to the ends of the curvy vines that extended out from the wreath. So there you have it.. What I do at 2:30 Am :)

I am still trying to figure out this new Blogger thing so, if this post and pics don't look quite right, please bare with me til' I get'er figured out...

Have a wonderful day :)

Happy Fall

                                     Welcome, first day of Fall

Some of you may remember that I posted this awesome list that I found on Pinterest last year.
Our family did many of the things listed on the  list, and had oodles of fun.
I thought, I would post it again to "Welcome Fall", and share with you, if you'd  like to do the Fall Bucket list.

The Pajama Cookout

Hello friends,
Every Tuesday evening Alan and I try to have a "just for fun party" for the kids. When $$$ are tight, and going out on the town for fun is nowhere in sight, then use your imagination!
This has actually been a big hit for the kids, and they really look forward to the next week.
Last week we had an Alien party. We were loaded up with Pop Rocks, Glow sticks and plenty of Alien treats.
And, this week we had a Pajama cookout. We roasted hot dogs & marshmallows down at our fire pit by the pond. Tiffanie and Jayda joined us for the party, and we all had a splendid time.
At the end of the evening, Grandpa spoiled us with Dutch oven Black Forest cake.
Plain and simple fun !

Happy Monday Morning, Beautiful Friends!
I hope your weekend was fulfilling and fun.

My weekend was SUPER- SIZED FUN!
I spent fun times with family
and as always, it warms and fulfills my heart.
We went to the annual Peach Days Shindig , ate lots of good food, sent the kids screaming on rides and gave the Carnies all our money just to get that magnificent stuffed toy as seen through the eyes of a young tot.
On Sunday we went over to my Brother and Sis' for some Ravioli Lasagna..
Oh, can i just tell you... Mmmm, M, good!
At the we crack of early, Sunday morning, I made something I've been wanting to make for a long while now.
I'm sure all you lovelies have seen or made these little bites of goodness?
"Peanut Butter Energy Bites"

Don't they look Divine?
Go ahead, have one.. they are great with your morning coffee.

There were so many recipes out there for these little energy balls, much of them being the same, with just slight differences.
So i got the basics and tweaked it to come up with a recipe to my liking.
*Peanut Butter Energy Bites*
In a mixing bowl add:
1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
1 cup quick cooking oats
( by adding the 2 oats, it gives a perfect texture)

1/2 cup ground flax seed
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 & 1/3 cup toasted coconut
give her a good mix, then add;

2/3 cup honey
1 cup peanut butter
2 tsp. vanilla
give her another good mix,
and wallah, you have your base for your energy bites!

This next step is the fun and creative step.
This is where you add all the yummy goodness.
you can add nuts, raisins, any kind of dried fruit, chocolate chips, etc.
after adding your favorite goodies,
roll into balls, place in an airtight container and refrigerate.
The energy bites stay good and fresh in your fridge for several weeks, IF they don't get gobbled up in the first

I made two batches, 1 with chocolate chips, and the other batch with chopped figs and raisins.
Let me just say.. the fig and raisin won the votes in my household.

This is a healthy and most delicious on the go breakfast or snack.
I sure hope you will try them.
Thanks for visiting ,
Have a great day!
