Hello friends :)
I hope you are all well, and enjoying the winter months.

as a child, January through March seemed like the longest and most dreaded months. I didn't ever think I'd get through them. And, I'm sure my poor mother wasn't sure she'd survive my miserable presence.

But, somehow over the years I have begun to enjoy those dreaded months..
I find in these cold months, coziness & warmth.
A time where i can really relax a little and do what ever i want.
I can read my favorite magazines or fuss a little with the decor in my home.

When Spring arrives it's back to being busy, busy.

While my little sidekick and I have been enjoying the slower pace of winter, we also have been sinking our fingers into clay.

Though it took awhile, I was tickled silly to finally complete my first 2 sculpts for 2012'
I have listed them for a 3 day auction on Ebay.

Hi friends!

this is a picture-less post!

I got up extra early to do a few things like, taking down Christmas. Instead, I found myself here on the computer. Whoopsie!!!!
I guess Christmas can stay up one more day :)

I haven't really set or mentioned any resolutions for this Fresh New Year.
I will just simply be applying the many lessons i have learned in my life over the last year to this New Year.

What did I learn in 2011? Well I'll tell you ...

1. Family is important and sacred. I need to always keep the door open to family... talk things out and hug each other often.
Hubby and i need to see family that live farther away much, much more often.

2. share my gift of creativity freely with people and children who want to learn and create.

3. I desperately need to drop all other venues that i have neglected forever, and sell what I create on a venue that i love. I LOVE Ebay :)

4. To move forward with what I believe in with a positive attitude.

Well there, i laid it all out..lol

now it is time to skip taking down Christmas and visit some blogs.

Hello friends,

It's been awhile since my last post.

I hope you are all well, and enjoying the fresh New Year.

I have been very busy with family.

It is where I am needed right now in my life and I must say... SHE has been a blessing.

My art will come, but it will come slowly as I have just a tiny bit of time to spend each day on it.

I have several Halloween pieces that I am currently working on, and I cant wait to share them with you all hopefully by the end of the week.

Secret Santa

Tuesday evening as Alan and I were
watching TV, I received a phone text. The text came from a computer and it said, " 12 days of Christmas starts tonight, check your front porch, Merry, merry Christmas".

I was confused.. for a moment.. I then read it to Alan, we looked at each other puzzled, then he checked the front porch.. he came running back and said there is something on the porch. We both scurried to the front door peeking out at the gift. My gosh, this has never happened to us and it was like we both didn't dare to pick it up as if we were doing something wrong.

I went out and picked up the beautiful gift. It had a note attached to a cute as the dickens popcorn tin and a wonderful cheery Merry Christmas metal sign.

Our hearts were immediately filled so big with good feelings that I cant begin to articulate, I couldn't hold back the tears...

I ran downstairs to share with the rest of the family, as Alan hung the Merry Christmas sign..

Like so many others, this has been the toughest year we as a family has ever faced, and to know a family out there is so caring and giving, it fills our hearts with Love, joy and gratitude.

The Secret Santa family has been back every night bearing gifts of love on our front porch..

in return, we hope to share this kindness and love with a family next Christmas.

Hi Friends! Are you all busy, busy into the holiday season?

I thought I had better check in to let you all know I'm still around.
My art for the 2011' year has come to a quiet stop.
I'm taking time away from my own creating to re-generate my creative brain for the new year.

However, my hubby has been busily working on oodles of orders and I am his little assistant ;) I LOVE being his assistant...

This year will be a different, but a very nice year for us.
We decided as a family not to exchange gifts for the adults and to focus on just the little ones in our lives.
This takes so much unnecessary pressure off the ones who may be struggling this year.
Can I just say that once we all agreed to this, a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders and I have been able to smile and focus on the true meaning of Christmas.

We plan to gather round and have a wonderful Christmas dinner together.
Then if everyone is not to tired after the meal, watch " The Christmas Story ".
Sounds Splendid!

Enjoying the Season!

Usually this time of year is when I am a blogging fool.
But, this year i will be slowing down to enjoy and soak up all the fun & cheer the season brings with my family.
My art will be slowing down as well ( It already has, lol..). Instead, I will be focusing on creating Christmas presents.
I will have a few items for my Etsy, and a few for ebay within the week, but that will be the last until the new year.

Almost all of our gifts will be handmade or purchased second hand with a little re-do finesse.
Except, for the toy Play Kitchen. I just didn't think I would have time for it, so we saw one in the Black Friday adds and thought we would fight the crowd.
My hubby and I got a late start on the Black Friday sale and by the time we got there the play kitchen we wanted for our granddaughter was gone.. I was a bit disappointed, but thought no biggie we will go with our original plan and make her one.. all we needed was an old second hand microwave cart, which I have been looking for over the past couple of months. They seem to be few and far between, but never the less we would keep looking.
Off to the second hand store we went for one more gander. What we found was so much better. We found a Little tykes play kitchen in prestine condition for only $5.00 . I latched on to it and was not letting go. Alan went up and paid for it, then had it wheeled to the back for pick up. A little bit of dish soap and Wallahhh!!! A Brand me new play kitchen from Santa ;
Anyways, that's what's going on at my house... WE ARE LITTLE ELVES WORKING AWAY, SIPPING ON PEPPERMINT HOT CHOCOLATE and ENJOYING THE SEASON.

Well Good mornin'!!!!

I've missed you all so much.

I'd like to thank you all for your kind comments. You all brighten my day. I am so sorry I have been so slow to email you back :)

I have had very little play time on the computer .You see, we recently got guardianship of our 2 year old granddaughter.

My other two grandchildren and my daughter already are staying with us, so with two, 2 year olds and 4 year old, I am sneaking my " ME" time in the early AM. or if I'm not too tired in the PM.

Truth is... I forgot what it was like to have little ones running about, I really don't think i have to worry about exercise, as I'm getting plenty of cardiovascular exercise right here at home.

My hats go off to all MOMMY'S especially those mommy's who are organized..because this grandma is a scattered mess, lol...

Which brings me to this!!!

Some of you may have seen this banner on my sidebar. At the time this was a sure go, but with the new and recent changes in my home life, I will have to cancel the sale as I have no idea if I will have a second to post that day.

I have been so excited to do a project with my mom and my niece.
We moved art day Saturday over to my Mama's house, as my house is now full of the pidder padders of tiny feet and hands that like to get into everything.
And I mean EVERYTHING!!

I am sure most of you have seen these fabulous coffee filter wreaths around blogland..
This gal has a great tutorial if you want to make one too. Oh, and she has other fun things to do and make for the home, on her blog.. you can visit her here.

And that is what we are making today at my Mama's house.

I procrastinated though, on my homework until the last minute, so at 3 am. I'm coffee dying coffee filters.. And guess who comes popping upstairs one by one at 3 am? Yes, the grankiddos..

Usually i greet the little stinkers with a big warm smile, this time I was like, SCREAM!!! What in the world are you doing up??? it's the middle of the night...They looked at me all puzzled, as I warmed each of them up some milk.. and scuffled them back downstairs..Thank heavens for DVD's .

What I love about these Wreaths is they are a year round wreath.
Each season you can add what I call "a little Finesse", and you have instant Holiday festiveness!!
Don't you just love what Lucy added to her wreath for the Autumn season?

What have I been up to?

I love creating Santa's...

I have been working on a commissioned piece for a gal, and this charming fellow is how she wants him to look.
Well by golly, my first attempt looked like Edgar Allan Poe .... hmmmm??? I had to scrap him.

My second attempt ??? SCRAP!!!!!

Good Grief Santa, Why are you giving me so much trouble???

As my deadline is getting so very near, I pulled myself outta bed at 1:30 am to try, try again before the kiddos wake up.

Hah, the saying "third time is a charm"... I think they are right ! ;)
I'll reveal this charming fellow when I list my next auction pieces, in a day or two ;)

Do you ever have trouble with commission pieces, especially when a customer would like it to look "just like" a picture of something?

Well. I have to say.. though i scrapped my first two attempts, I did thoroughly enjoy sculpting the Santa's and Edgar , lol...

a clean studio, what?

Okay, okay, I know this has nothing to do with a clean studio and maybe not the nicest thing to post??? But when I saw this on Pinterest, I laughed and laughed, until I fell off my chair..
Similar words my SIL has teased me about over the years during coffee, referring to my ex from many, many years eons ago.

On a serious note.. I CLEANED my studio! It was LONG overdue for a REAL deep cleaning.
I have been working on it in small time frames. Instead of my art time in the studio, I've been organizing, throwing stuff out and washing walls..
I was so scared of what might lurk in the corners or the closet???? I lucked out, I only had to let out 2 blood curdling screams & smoosh 2 creepy long 8 legged creatures....Ahhhh, now it's a clean & spider free space.

Now, I'd better get creating before the 3 little kiddos wake up!!!!

Good Morning friends,

Forgive me, as I am so behind on my posts.

My wonderful and most talented friend Alicia was asked to do a book review on the New magazine " Mingle" from Stampington.
Alicia decided after reading Mingle, she would then have a giveaway for the Magazine.
I was SO excited when she emailed me to say I had won!!!

( Please forgive my blurry pics. I haven't mastered pic taking while running after (2) Two year olds).

I was so excited when the mail came with a package from Alicia...
I was going 90 miles an hour that day, but I took a few minutes to open the package.
My gosh!!! Not only did Alicia send the "Mingle" magazine, but she also sent other goodies as well.

First, I'll tell you about the Magazine.
I LOVE IT!!!
Mingle is all about entertaining.. From small & casual entertaining to the big fancy shin digs ..
The pics and ideas in this magazine are out of this world spectacular.. a feast for the eyes and definitely gets your creative mind a cranking...
I would say, " Mingle " is a must have magazine.

Now, about my talented friend Alicia.
I found Alicia's art awhile back on Etsy. I absolutely fell in love with her work.
Alicia is not only a wonderful artist, but a wonderful person as well.
I LOVE to visit her blog as she is always uplifting .

The above pic " One Of A Kind" is a print from one of Alicia's Originals that she included as a gift, along with the Mingle Magazine.
I nearly fell over when i saw the print, as this is one of my favorites of her work.

Each container is made of a sturdy washable, food safe plastic.
the rectangle container measures; : The rectangle box measures: 2 1/2" long, 2" wide, 1 1/2" deep.
and the round measures; 3" across, 1 1/2" deep.

Details; I have sculpted various OOAK designs onto the lids of each container. Some of the containers have a character from one of my own molds, of my original sculpts.
The clay I used to sculpt the lids is a new Wonderful Epoxy clay called Amazing Sculpt!
The clay and name speaks for itself. LOVE IT!!!

Did you Survive?

After nearly 10 cookies and a few raids from the candy bowl.... My belly barely survived!

I've been running around all morning trying to burn off the mega calories I consumed last night..

Our night was fun as like every Halloween.. Surprisingly, we had a lot of trick or treater's
visit the ol' homestead..
They were all sportin' some pretty cool costumes.
There was one little tyke that was so dang cute..he was dressed like a Lion. It was his first Halloween and he was about 1 years old.. His mom was teaching him how to trick or treat.. he bent down over the candy bowl, and with one hand at a time he dug his hand into the bowl and grabbed a handful.. then the other hand.. his tiny little hands must have had 3 bite size bars in each hand.. This little tyke has it down pat! Lol...

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays and it is a spectacular kick off to the Holiday season...

I'd like to wish you all a Happy November 1st.

365 days of anticipation and now, It's finally here!!!!!!!!!
It will be an eerily quiet Halloween for Alan and I, except for those spooky little Ghosts and Goblins in search for treats.
Usually, we have a Halloween open house, filled with food & fun. A place for the cold, hungry, spooky souls to fill their bellies and warm their feet...
This year we will relax with a good spooky movie and just listen to the merriment of Halloween, and the loud giggles of the little Ghosts & Goblins coming up the walk in search for a treat.
I'm looking forward to an eerily quiet evening.

I had promised I would post my new creation last evening.. I' have an excuse, really i do!

All is well now...

And here is the debut of my newest creation.
O' I couldn't even begin to capture the magic with the camera.
I created him with paper clay and various papers, including some that I hand dyed and had so much fun getting blue hands.. Love getting my fingers into creative mischief..
I was a mud puddle girl..

We should have a ooey goo, get yer hands dirty artsy farsty kind of party!

Mornin' !

I've been adding my own little quirks into my healthy plan...
1st.. let me tell you though, on my last weight update I was holding my own against the prednisone..
Well, that little beast is in the lead... If you want to see a full moon Halloween night, I'll be sure to post a pic of my face

Anyways, i wont let that get under my skin to bad???

back to quirks.. Awhile back, I decided a good way to start the day was to take a good 10 or 15 minutes and meditate every morning. Adding positive self talk to myself.. you know all the good stuff we forget to tell ourselves about ourselves :)
I have noticed it kinda starting to help with my attitude.. I've been just a bit more relaxed, I've been able to deal head on with the issue's that arise without feeling as though I'm going to have a come-a-part.. and the strangest thing of all.... I've been standing up straighter, lol... yes you heard me right.. I have always had poor posture and lately, I've caught myself standing straighter.. could this be something called Confidence???

Well, I don't know, but I'm keeping that quirk in my healthy plan!

Feeling a Little Christmas-y!

Hello there Kindred's,
Well I'm not sure how, when or why, but the ol' Christmas spirit has snuck in under my skin!
Maybe, possibly it could be that my daughter and I have been working on some awesome Christmas gifts after the wee ones are tucked in, and fast asleep..
We kinda feel like elves...we will work until 3 am, then back up at 7 am to get Kasen off to school... yep, we are crazy little Elves :)

While that Christmas spirit is running wild through my veins, I couldn't help but to create a Santa. LOVE SANTA'S (in a singing voice).

This one is a bit different though...

I have fallen in love with mixed media and thought I would experiment on Santas Hat.

FUN!!!!!!!!! ( In a Singing Voice ).

I used gorgeous blue and tan papers, glitters & chalks. I added a few handmade tiny flowers as well.
I was tickled with how this Santa turned out..
O' I forgot to mention that he is a gourd.. a dipper gourd ;)

He would make a nice addition or gift for the Santa Ornament collector..

Good morning, to all my blogging kindred's!

I haven't peeked my head outside yet, but I just know it's going to be a splendid day, I feel it in my bones :)

I have a busy day ahead. I will be submerging myself into the wonderful and creative world of packaging and shipping ! ? Do you like to package?
I do, I really do enjoy packaging my little creations that have been adopted. Just knowing that someone out there loved my work enough to purchase it gives me a humble and good feeling inside. My customers deserve their newly purchased *OOAK* art to come to them in style.. And really, it's pretty cool to think that your creations are traveling the states and at times the world!
Oakie doak.. I don't want to freak you all out with my love of packaging! moving on..

before I get wrapped up into that world, I wanted to give you a little peek of my newest ebay offerings.

In the above photo you will notice the Lil' Gypsy Witch.. isn't she just as adorable as can be?

Well, let me give you the low down on this little stinker... Like all Gypsies, she is a collector. She collects anything that speaks to her & touches her heart.. When I told her she was going on Ebay for adoption, she gasped, then ran off quickly!!! It wasn't but a few minutes when she returned holding a bag ever so tightly... I said, "what is in the bag Lil' Gypsy Witch?"
She replied with a wink, " my treasures are in the bag and I'll be taking them with me".
So as you can see, if you want to adopt this Lil' Gypsy Witch, you might want to know that she's bringing a bag of goodies too..;)

And then there is this whittle guy... teeny, tiny and cute as a button all nestled into an antique china child's teacup. He is hoping for a new home in time for the Holidays !

I sure do hope your enjoying your favorite cup of brew, while visiting your blogging kindreds.

I'm savoring a fresh, hot cup of Folgers with a sprinkle of cinnamon... it's sooo good & certainly gives a warm, cozy feeling while listening to the raindrops as you're typing....

Did you all have a splendid weekend?

Our weekend was better then we could have asked for ...
our home is no longer a quiet place since our daughter and Grandchildren moved in.. Not at all.. We have Tons of laughter, tears, and the day to day chaos that comes from scurrying about with chores and you know, that everyday stuff we do in our homes.

Though, Alan and I had been empty nester's long enough to get used to a quiet routine and home life... the children under foot, the echos of family chitter-chattering, and sometimes pure chaos that will make your eyes roll into the back of your head..
I wouldn't change for anything in the world.

Sunday morning we decided to mark a couple of things off our "Bucket List".

I packed us up a nice Picnic consisting of fried chicken, baked beans, salad in a jar, 7 UP biscuits and some yep, you guessed it, Pumpkin chocolate chip pecan cookies! Recipe's here

We loaded the the Fam and our kindred friend and her daughter into the trusty Durango ,off to the hills we went.

The day was pleasantly cool... There was cloud cover for the better part of the day, casting off a smoky blue/ gray sky around us. As we walked deeper into the woods the yellows , browns and fading pale green leaves against the dark wood and blue gray sky, set the stage for a most mystical and magical nature walk... I expected to see a glimpse of a woodland fairy.

The autumn picnic and nature walk was magical!
A great way to get rejuvenated and be ready to say....

I hope your day is going better then you had ever imagined :)

My day has been " Splendid " ( I like that word, it just sums it up in a good way ).
I mentioned , quite a few posts ago, that I was trying to loose some ( well, a lot ) of UN-wanted poundage..
I'm not doing it to look " HOT " no, not at all...
I just want to do it for me... to Feel better, to be here on this earth longer, and to watch my grandchildren, have children of their own.
And....if in the process of all this, I end up looking " HOT " I'll just have to accept it ;)

The last time I gave an update, I was 199...
since then, I've been back on my worst weight gainer enemy, Prednisone.
But, I can proudly say I've only gained 1 pound and I generally gain between 10-15.
So far so good!
It seems I've been gathering healthy recipes from every corner of this earth lately, like a crazed monster.

This "ONE" is simple ( I LOVE SIMPLE) and I wanted to share with you.
I'm sure you probably already know this recipe, but just in case you forgot, I wanted to tie a string around your finger to remember.

With the apple harvest abundant right now, I thought this would be the best little snack*er*rooni, if you are a snacker*doo.

For some yummy apple slices.
Slice yer apple and core it. Or core it and slice it???
Spread on a lush layer of peanut butter, sprinkle with pecans, rolled oats and some semi-sweet chocolate chips.

After listing all my Snowmen earlier today, I had that sigh of relief. I went upstairs, cooked some mean taco's for the tribe, then retreated to the studio to jot down a few ideas I had meandering in and out of my brain cells.
Then hubby and I called it a night. All snuggly wuggly, peacefully drifting off into a land of faraway....

It's a cold Winterey day here in Northern Utah, well pretty much the entire state I do think. Yes you heard me right, I did say WINTERY !
This really isn't anything unusual for us, this time of year here in the Beehive State. Once the storm passes we could very well go back up to the 70's and 80's.

With this cold wet weather brought big ol' snowflake kissed ideas dancing around in my head, so I thought I'd better act quickly on it, and make some silly little snowmen for my ever,ever so shamefully bare Etsy Shop.
I will surely share my little snowmen in a day or two, when they are ready for the shop.

I do also love to cook, especially on days like this...
It has to be Something yummy, comforting and surely something to warm the ol' tummy and heart.

My first thought this morning was a big pot of BEEF STEW. Mmmmmm.. but, then I thought maybe my fam doesn't appreciate soups as much as I do, and thier eyeballs may roll back into thier head if they see another bowl of soup in front of them, since that is what I've been cooking lately. I thought I'd have mercy on their sweet souls and I'd be a sweetheart of a domestic goddess and make a Casserole.
I decided on;

Sloppy Joe Bake

Ingredients

1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1 can (15-1/2 ounces) sloppy joe sauce
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups biscuit/baking mix
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup 2% milk
1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Directions

In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in sloppy joe sauce. Transfer to a lightly greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish; sprinkle with cheese.
In a large bowl, combine the biscuit mix, eggs and milk just until blended. Pour over cheese; sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Yield: 8 servings.

Looks scrumptious & easy peasy to me! Now, I'm all freed up to pamper my snowmen with paint,glitter and accessories :)

I couldnt let this day pass without a warm welcome to October !
Ahhhh, the "Magic" of it all !
I LOVE the warmth,and magical extitement October and the next few months brings to us.
It's time to pull out the warm & cozy throws to cuddle up with in front of that, in our case electric fireplace.
Make BIG Ol' pots of hearty homemade soups. I could live on soup I do think :)
I love to bake, but nothing is better to me than Fall baking.
Pumpkin cookies, quick breads of all kinds using nature's bounty.

I had an incredibly splendid time creating this Autumn Witch for my front porch.
I have been working on my Fall decorating.. I kinda got a little bummed when my large finial and Angel was stolen, but not for long... I started digging in my arts & craft supplies and found this doll head that I acquired from the beauty college. With a little paint, crackle medium, silk fall leaves & Glitter you can make anything.
She was easy to create, just let your imagination flow. Oh, and the best part was it took 2 1/2 hours to create, most of that being drying time for the paint and crackle.
My porch will be totally non-traditional.. I am leaning for mystical, magical in a creepy spooky kinda way look...
Tomorrow, the grand-kiddlings are helping me make some bats
(they don't know it yet ).
If it turns out the way i hope, I will have Mr.Mac takes some pics.

Oh, and by the way...From now until Halloween i will be sleeping in the swing with my sling shot just in case the porch burglar strikes again.. I've been practicing with the hubster ;)

Yep, I have been decorating my porch for Fall and it was looking pretty darn cute, I guess SO CUTE that someone decided they must have some of my cherished treasures.
I had a pair of ex-large finials and get this a large Angel! WHO STEALS ANGELS? Obviously someone who needs God and Angels in their life...
I guess I will be visiting the thrift stores to find me some new treasures to re-purpose for my porch.. I will be VERY Careful though, as to not make them so cute, for the porch burglar without a conscience.
Oakie Doak, enough ranting and raving..
My job hunt hasn't started.. I guess I am reluctant, maybe scared..lol but for sure bright & early Monday. I did however make a list of places I would like to apply, so that is a start :)
I haven't had much time to create, but will have some time today!!! Wahooo.
I did have a little time to play on the computer with one of my past creations and make a design for a Halloween bookmark.
if you would like to copy it for yourself or give to a friend please feel free.
I like to print them off, then add a little paint, glitter, chalk. Then laminate and add a fun tassel. It makes a cute gift tied to your Halloween treat bags.

This IS another post without any pics..I apologize as I know if you are like me, you enjoy eye candy.
I wanted to give my readers and collectors just a little insight to why my art will be scarce, here in the very near future. This could be permanent or maybe not, but for now I need to do what is best for my family.
I will, starting bright and early tomorrow morning, and be all slicked up in my finest hand me downs, to be amongst the thousands in our country looking for a JOB!!! Oh, I know that is a scary word, not a word I wanted to ever hear again. I had hoped that my art could see me through financially, but it really is quite expensive to live on one good income in today's world.
At this time in my life i have many qualifications for jobs that require standing.. but with my bad knees and a doctors firm recommendation for me to find a sit down job, I will have to go to school as i am really not qualified for a sit down job.. So I must do both, work to bring in a little income and pay for school.
I have really have been giving myself a pep talk, trying to be positive and all that good stuff.. We must do,what we must do, accept it and move forward,right?
So for awhile, until I get a good routine going, the art may be scarce, but not gone forever :)
I have a couple items I hope to complete before my new venture begins.. I will keep you updated on those.
Thank you to all, from my heart for supporting me and my work over the years. I hope to be back soon , as I have such a love for creating.

I finally have something to offer over at the Queens Bootique. I think I have missed the last couple of listings, ( Shame on me ).

This is my other offering for the Bootique. The theme for this month is Sugar skulls. I've never really done a sugar skull, but find them to be very eye catching.
I chose to do my sugar skull as an ornie, I guess that's not hard to believe as most of my work is ornies..lol
This little guy that I named " Sugar" is really quite fun. His head is a tiny gourd and his body is created from Apoxie sculpt as well as the facial features. I added a joint between his head and body, any time he is bumped or moved he busts out some serious moves, dancing away.. pretty darn cute. His arms and legs are poseable and I think he would be so cute hanging from a rear view mirror.

I am taking Thursday and Friday off from creating to catch up on my domestic Goddess duties, including decorating for FALL.

Yep, I should be working as tomorrow is the deadline for my offerings over at the Queens Bootique. I'm looking over at my art table, and my goodies are 3/4 of the way done.. While my coffee is brewing ( I know this will be an all nighter) I thought I would ramble a little bit and let you in on my life happenings...
We had a fun weekend! it was Peach days here in our little town. A weekend filled with festivities and a carnival. I love carnivals, it is the best place, besides Walmart to do people watching.. yes, I'm a watcher.. I love to see peoples facial expressions because everyone is so unique.
We had a corn dog because they looked so dang good, and they were, but my tummy didn't think so. I think it was in shock with all the grease since i have been changing my eating habits and all...
Speaking of eating habits.. the weight is coming off ever so slowly, but I did break the 200 mark. I am now a voluptuous 199..
Sooooo to celebrate, today I treated myself to a haircut.
My niece is back in hair school and she fit me in on my whim, which was so sweet of her. She gave me the cutest haircut I think I have ever had. I LOVE IT!!! Next Monday I am scheduled for a facial :)
I am really enjoying my gran-kids living here and i notice that I have WAYYYYYYYYYYYY more patience with the grandies then i did with my own children, even when i get a candy bar thrown right smack into my eyeball.
I thought that I would have less time to do my art with the little munchkins running about, but if anything has interfered with my production it has been me using poor time management, although little Kasen does knock on my studio door every ten minutes asking me if I'm ready for a break..lol
Well by golly the coffee is done and this was my whole weekend.. A Carnival, people watching, a greasy corn dog, a fantastic haircut and a candy bar in the eyeball..
I'll be showing some pics in a day or two of the goodies i complete tonight..

Hi there, I hope you all have had a fantastic week.
I don't have any pics to share this evening, but that isn't going to stop me from yakking.
Alan had today off, so last night we decided on the spur of the moment to head up to the campgrounds and get us spot overnight.
After being nearly pulverized by a freaking crazy dude on a 4 wheeler, by golly we found the best spot ever! Yeah! I'll tell you about the lunatic on the 4 wheeler. We were headed down from docks flat on a narrow road. I was driving and my side was the side with the 500ft drop off or cliff what ever, it scares me.. I could see a car coming in front of us so I got over as far as i could and all of a sudden this maniac on 4 wheeler races out from behind the car and tried to pass and HELLO here we are right head on in front of him. I came to a screeching halt , and that 4 wheeler barely squose in between us and the other car. I thought it was going to be bad, thank goodness it wasn't. I felt like turning the truck around and chasing him down, but I didn't because that would have been considered road rage..lol.
Ahhh yes, Back to the perfect spot.. well this camping spot was amazing!!! It was completely secluded with a little path that led down to a creek. I was in heaven and the dogs LOVED it.. yes even my sassy little Beverley hills chihuahua put on her big girl outfit and enjoyed herself. We are going to make a camper out her yet.
It's perfect weather right now for camping, the nights get a little nippy, but with a campfire it's perfect! Next Tuesday I am going to have the truck packed and ready to go so we can get up to the same spot in the early afternoon.. I plan on taking my art supplies with me and take advantage of the beautiful outdoors before Old man winter sets in.
I have the dog-gone cutest ghost figurine that i am working on right now, I hope to get him finished and listed on Ebay by Saturday morning . Oh...... and I almost forgot to mention.. I am also working on a SURPRISE ;)

Halloween items & a Snowman too!

I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday weekend doing what you like to do!!! Can you believe that September is already here?
This is truly my most favorite time of year.
I love to get up real early on a crispy cool Fall morning , root through the closet and put on one of my husbands cozy flannel shirts...Then it's off to my husbands sock drawer to find a big over sized pair of cozy wool hunting socks, slip them puppies over the toes & up onto the footies, next... off to the Kitchen to pour a cup of strong hot coffee with a hint of cinnamon. Now I'm ready to sit outside on the swing and soak up every little bit of the Autumn morning...Mmmmmm good!

We had several ideas of getting out of town for Labor day weekend, but instead we chose to stay home and work on some of our art. We had a great time as we always do in the studio. Alan worked on his slingshot and I managed to get a few Halloween items completed, and one little chubby Snowman.
When it was time to take the pics, my photographer (Alan)agreed that with the cloud cover it was just to darn dark in the house to take pics... Soooooo hopefully the lighting will be in our favor tomorrow :)

challenging myself...

to a lifestyle change...
Some that follow my art whether it be to see what I am up to, or to see what I have to offer for sale, probably can notice that I have slowed down with my work, when in reality I should be speeding up, as the biggest sale season is fast approaching!
Well, the truth is.. I'm just darn tired.. I have more on my plate family wise and more on my butt weight wise.. and this stinkin' heat & humidity just doesn't help, i feel like a Sloth...sigh......
After getting off my long bout of prednisone I tipped the scales at 210 ! SCREAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!! I always can expect to gain 10-15 pounds with that crap and I seem to get more & more depressed and more and more chubby.
My heck, i was never a super active person, but I did always have enough energy to pidder patter about the house non-stop, now I just want to sit on the couch or lay in bed watching all the episodes of "Hot in Cleveland" and dream of being as thin as the character "Victoria Chase" while eating Otter pops.
Well by golly about two weeks ago I had an epifany,and some huge inspiration from a few friends that have changed their lifestyles and way of eating and have lost some un-wanted pounds.
It was high time I challenged myself to change...

My mom gifted me this wonderful book exactly a year ago.
I love this book as it teaches good healthy eating. It gives you a good understanding of good and bad carbs, and is chuck full of yummy recipes using mostly what we all have in our cupboards.

I did try this way of eating a year ago and lost about 16 lbs. in one month, then I became ill again and had to take that darn prednisone. Feeling like I was going to get fat anyways, I re-lasped back to my old unhealthy eating habits of processed high fat & sugary foods.

Well no more!!! Two weeks ago I pulled that book of the shelf, and began a healthy way of eating once again.. Starting at 210 I am now down to 203lbs. I cant say that I see or feel a difference yet, as i am still sluggish.. but I am pushing myself to stay off the couch and keep moving about, and just seeing the numbers going down on the scales is inspiring me to keep going. I figure when i reach 195 I will see a difference when I look into the mirror and also will have more energy.
my goal is 145 lbs.
Oakie doak, I guess I'd better keep moving.. Alan and I are going on another mini camping trip..
I wont be having smore's but am going to grill a pear instead.

I will keep you posted as the buckets of flub comes off my bod ;)

27 birthdays!

I meant to say... Birthdays on the 27Th!

Today is this handsome little guys BIRTHDAY!!!!

This pic was taken yesterday after he got all spiffed up to meet his teacher.
He starts his 1st day of school at Headstart on Tuesday!!!
He met his teacher at our house.
Alan & I stayed in our bedroom and watched Gunsmoke while Kasen, his Mommy and teacher had time to get acquainted.
It wasn't long before Kasen came tootling into our room shut the door, climbed up on our bed snuggling between me & Grandpa. I looked at him and said, "don't you want to go out and see your teacher " and Kasen replied, " She's OLD " I said, like me? Kasen looked at me with his big brown eyes and said, " YES ".... lol....

Kasen could not make up his mind about what kind of birthday cake he wanted.. he wanted The Karate Kid, Skeletons & Spider Man.. My cake decorator friend put them altogether!
The Karate kid and Spider Man are kickin' some Skellie Butt, lol. I think he will LOVE his cake, I sure do!!!

All of my grand kids are very familiar with my art, in fact they see almost every piece before they are sold. This year I started a tradition that I would make an ornie for each one the grand kids on their birthdays..
Kasen loves all of my Skellie ornies the very best, so I made this one just for him.

This Fun little gal is my niece! Today is her BIRTHDAY as well.
Kylie is full of energy and is so much fun. We spend Saturday's working on artwork, ummm and having fun, ummm and yard sailing.
Going to yard sales will probably stop though, as we have a few new artsy people that will be joining us on Art Day Saturday.

Tomorrow we will be going out to Kylie's to celebrate her Birthday... I cant wait to give her this trinket box i made especially for her, as she really wanted me to make her something with a Unicorn.
I used paper clay to sculpt the Unicorn onto the paper mache' box. I hope she likes it!

Another special person's Birthday was this past Wednesday.
She is a little girl at heart and LOVES dogs, in fact she is the best darn dog groomer that I know.. I am a little late getting her gift to her, but i think she will be d'lighted anyway.
This box was also created with paper clay atop a paper mache' box.

Well good golly, I'd best be getting my party hat on!!!!

Hello friends, it's a beautiful August morning here in Northern Utah and A perfect day to share...

First, I would like to thank Anna From Frosted Petunias for hosting the most Fun & Wonderful ARTFUL BAG ATC SWAP!
I was lucky enough to get in this swap as Anna needed a couple more little swappers...so I took the plunge.. my first ATC swap, and I surely hope to participate in more...

I received this package in the mail Monday afternoon.. Look at the sweet little details on the package! LOVE IT!!!

What a sheer delight to my eyes when I pulled out a little package wrapped in beautiful foil papers with red scroll designs.. I wonder how Anna knew red was my favorite color?
I let out a screammmmm.... as i opened the wrapping to find this Wonderful little paper purse. I LOVE IT! I wonder how Anna knew the colors of my home?

And inside the lovely paper purse, was this Fabulous Artful Bag ATC ! I absolutely LOVE IT! The colors & design is rich and full of depth & detail.. I LOVE the carpet bag, and it fits me to a tee!

I LOVE the detail on the carpet bag, especially the pin with dangly beads... Thank You so much Anna :)

This was a very fun ATC swap and i hope to join more..
I wished I could show you the ATC I created just for Anna, but scatter brained me was so excited to package it up, and send it to Anna that I plum forgot to take pics... well, until i was in line at the Post office.. Da O !

A New Zombie Zidz!

Hello my bloggy friends :) I wanted to tell you all how much I appreciate your visits and comments.. You always make my day!

This week I've been working feverishly in my studio on Birthday gifts for family members.. Yep, they were all born in August and the same week no less, and me being always behind schedule I'm cutting it real close..Yikes!

So I just had to tell you what I've been up to.. I have a hard time keeping things to myself, so I will let half the cat outta the bag.. But, So sorry I cant show a pic of my WIP or then the other half of the cat would be out, then I would spoil everything!

Well first off let me start with the button from Frosted Petunias I have pictured there on my post. Well that belongs to Anna and she is having an ATC swap. Her blog is wonderful and uplifting full of magical surprises, so it is no wonder why i love to visit..
I took the plunge and participated in the swap and that is what I've been working on.. I am having SO much fun!!! On Thursday the 25th we will reveal the ATC we received from our partner and the ATC we made.. I CANT WAIT!!!!!

A Halloween Candy Container & A Happy Ghoul!

I love this time of year!
The early mornings are getting that cool crisp nip in the air, and I'm getting all to anxious for the Fall to arrive.
It is also time when some folks start collecting those fun & colorful candy containers to put yummy treats in for the sweet little Goblins in their lives.
I LOVE to create Candy Containers for just that purpose and i have this one just listed on Ebay!

Halloween character?
Ghosts, Goblins, monsters & more.
It is always an exciting time of year for so many Halloween fanatics, anticipating that spooky moonlit night, and what you might wear!

My favorite character since I can remember was the Witch!

When the air turned crisp, I knew it wouldn't be long before I'd be picking out my Halloween mask...

I believe my fascination with Witches began with this old gal...
Witchie poo.. She was a colorful character and I was fascinated with her from head to toe.. I would study every little detail of her witchie attire, right down to her striped stockings!

Although the fascination.. she did scare me just a little... I think it was her long crooked nose. But still she is my favorite Witch to this day!

There was no Witch that spooked me more then this famous old hag...and she still scares me to this day..lol

Three friends.. unaware of their Witchie powers they possessed..
Until this devilish character arrives into their lives...

I loved this story of the "Witches of Eastwick"

but not nearly as much as this tale, and I think many will agree... Practical Magic is magic every time you watch it !

I guess by now it is no surprise that when I create Halloween art that Witches are probably my favorite to create...

A little Fairy Bunkin blessed our home for a couple of days, keeping us running to stay one step ahead of her, for she is a mischievous little Fairy bunkin!
Though we are all tuckered out, the magic and laughter she brought with her to fill our home, is priceless!

A couple of other little Fairy bunkins are coming to stay with us for spell. So, I thought a splash of Spring Spritz on the walls would lightened & brighten the room. I sure hope they like it!

I have had so much fun entertaining a special little Fairy bunkin, and preparing for a couple of other special little Fairy bunkin's stay, that I have fallen behind on my art.
This is what I have on my work table today, and hope to finish within the next day or two.
A couple of ornaments and candy containers.
When finished they will be headed to Ebay, The Queens Bootique and Etsy...

WIPS Complete & Ebay!

Two posts in one day??? Well gee whiz, i really didn't plan it that way..
Remember last week I showed some pics of my WIPs? I am excited to say that I did get three of them finished.

This mixed media painting is quite different to what I generally create and sell.
I have longed to create little whimsical mixed media works of art ( on the sweet side of life) and I really am tickled as to how this little 4 x 5" on canvas art piece turned out.
I will be listing her today on my Etsy and she will sell for $15.00 with free traveling fees. I am thrilled to say that this lil' Witch painting sold moments after listing . Thank you KIM :)

Now this wrinkly old spooky feller will scare the socks off the bravest of souls... yes, you will sleep with one eye open..lol...

Good Tuesday morning :)
It is a beautiful morning here in my little town, following two days of huge rain storms that darkened our skies, watered our lawns and cooled us down a bit...

I hope, I can get through this post as I need a NEW mouse.
My well loved little mouse has served me well for 8 years and is ready to kick the bucket any day now. I tend to get very attached to things.. even a little mouse.

One thing I will never get attached to is big creepy spiders!!! SHIVER!!!
I went 6 years without seeing one of these buggers in my laundry room, then the other night... it was there... ONE BIG CREEPY SPIDER... ON THE WALL... IT had to be as big as a SOFTBALL!!! All I know is.. he better keep his furry butt outta my studio or he's getting home defensed!!!!

Oh my good gravy, I guess I should say Happy AUGUST to you all!!!
And with the coming of a new month, comes the update of the QUEENS BOOTIQUE!!!

A Surprise Gift & WIPs

This was a comment left from one of my collectors and good friend Jody,that left me puzzled, and the gears in my brain a turning...
Years ago when I first started selling my art on Ebay, Jody purchased one of my Ornaments.. It was a lil' Bee named Burtis. Over the years we have become goods friends, chit chatting over the phone & emailing from time to time.
Jody has brought great inspiration to me in my life, and well.. she is full of surprises too, as i found out on Monday.
Yep, the mail man dropped off a package that brightened my day once again. Inside the package was a sweet note from Jody and this darlin' Ornie she purchased from one of my fave artists!
Jody knew that i love Lisa's art from LLA Craetions, and she purchased this sweet ornie for me... She is so thoughtful and sweet! Thank you again Jody, I LOVE HIM!!!

I have a few things that are keeping me busy in the studio and out of trouble...
From the scariest of scary to the cutest of cute.

My hubby was recently asked, " if he sleeps with one eye open with all the spooky characters i create".. I rolled on the floor giggling when he told me this... then i asked the question.. Well do you?
He said, "Well, of Course I do " Lol...

As you can see in my wips.. i am adding some cute*ness here and there... Oh, and I like cute!

New Clay & WIP

I'm not sure if I am normal or not ?
But, I create and sell my art for food and art supplies!!! And yes, sometimes i get the two mixed up as far as PRIORITY goes..
WHOOPS !!!
Mr.Mac knows all to well, that if we are eating Top Ramen noodles for a week it can only be one of two things.. I either didn't sell any art for the week, or I couldn't resist temptation and bought MORE art supplies. I admit, I am an ART ADDICT and LOVE to try new things.

When it comes to clay, I think an Artist has their favorite. It is a wonderful feeling every time you sink your fingers into the clay.. at least for me it is... My favorite clay to work with is Creative Paper clay followed closely by Apoxie Sculpt.
I was watching a local TV art show a few weeks back, and a gal was creating a little sculpture. She was using this clay called Sculpt-it. She said it was really nice to work with.
Well gee whiz..... what if..... just if, this was the best clay ever? I just had to try it!!!!! It would only cost us on day of Top ramen, lol... So I took the plunge and bought it..lol.....

I absolutely loved the way it felt in my hands.. It sculpted so nicely.. oh, I was in heaven..... to work with this clay was a cross between a polymer clay and paper clay..YEP, the songbirds sang LOUDLY in my head :) !

Until this...... Hmmmmm.... just a small crack, no biggy!

Hmmmmm... now this is one humdinger of a crack !

The package says "will not shrink once COMPLETELY DRY"
well, lol good gads I hope not! I would be embarrassed if one of my customers called me a year later and said the ornament shrunk??? lol... does that even make sense.. will not shrink once completely dry???
Okay... I don't mean to be knocking the product.. they were creatively saying there will be some shrinkage...and even though I have to sand my piece and fill in the cracks and so forth, it just might be a clay I will use as i loved the texture and how pleasant it was to work with.. it dries very strong.. I will say it does not sand as easy as paper clay, but your dried surface from this clay is smoother.
So, I would recommend this clay.. but remember that it does shrink a bit while drying... thin layers will result in LESS shrinkage.

That was my tidbit for the day ;)

Good morning!
It's A Fantabulous Friday here in the studio.
A bit chilly willy though... I even turned on the space heater for a few minutes to take away the chilly willies ... Were toasty now!

I hope your day is everything you hoped for and more...

Yesterday, I was feeling a bit gloomy. I've had an abundance of heart wrenching sadness over the past little while, and as hard as i try to stay positive and keep my chin up.. well sometimes the pain & sadness can take over, and it did yesterday...
Un * Expectantly, my day was brightened!
I was working away in the studio and heard Queen Tessa and little Lizzy barking up a storm. Up the stairs I went to see what in the world all the fuss was... Just the mailman..lol..What is it with dogs and mailmen? They see them 6 days a week, you would think they would get used to them..
I leaned out the door with my lovely scare hair and paint stained comfy artsy courture, to get the mail.. To my surprise, there was a package addressed to my hubby & I from my sister in-law Peggy. Alan & I opened the package, with delight in our eyes and a gasp in our next breath we took out this tiny little Guitar magnet that Peggy had made for us. It is as cute as the dickens, and I love it so much. Peggy is one talented gal and creates so many wonderful ornaments and other creations. She keeps a blog where she shares about her family and art.
When i thanked Peggy for the cutest ever guitar.. she told me something that was so special about it. The wood was from the old house that Mr. Mac's and Peggy's dad was raised in,the string used was the line from thier Grandpas old fishing pole,and the white paint on the guitar by the string is the original paint. Peggy you are so creative and what a special keepsake.. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

And yet, another package!
This one I was expecting as I treated myself to a piece of original art to add to my collection.
Meet " Evil Ed "
Isn't he the cutest? This whimsical & fantastic ornie was created by my friend Lisa of LLA Creations.
The first time I saw Lisa's wood carved creations, I fell in love. She is so talented and each one of her creations is so full of character!
A few months ago Lisa gifted me with some cypress knees and bass wood to do a bit 3-D carving. She is a sweetie and Lisa if you read this, i want you to know that I am making progress on the carving!!! Thank you Lisa :)

This is a sneak peek of my little nook that I am working on where I can display my collection of art from many talented artist friends.
I am still working on my living room re-do and art display area, so detailed pics will come later when the re-do is complete.
The old child's cupboard finish is original and quite dark.. I still need to paint the inside a light shade so my collection of OOAK Art will stand out :)

I don't want to be greedy but I would love to have more time in the day..lol...

My creative brain has been scrambling for months on how I want to re-do my art studio... I know myself all to well, it is a one shot deal so I really, really want to get it right.. something I will enjoy and want to spend 8 + hours a day in for many years. My space is small & cozy.
Several weeks ago I ran across this pic while looking for inspiration. I instantly LOVED the idea! What a great solution to storage issues and it is so cool. I am using this concept but looking for old vintage tables or old hand made pieces of furniture.
So me,my mom and my niece hit the yard sales yesterday...
Can I just tell you that I was SO excited followed by sheer disappointment! We found oodles of old beat up hangin' by the hinge tables, but everyone wanted your left kidneys for them and how could I justify that to Mr. Mac?
Yard sale , after yard sale... I quickly became disappointed and maybe feeling a bit sorry for myself ( okay maybe a lot sorry ).... then my sandal broke, I hobbled to the last yard sale with one sandal on, one in my hand and one big pouty face, then I ran across something that made me stop in my tracks.. and SMILE ! So I bought it! What was this little object that could turn a frown upside down???

it a was a tiny fridge magnet from none other then the talented Mary Englebrieght and it said....

" SNAP OUT OF IT "
and so i did...

There is always next weekend :)

Friday Fun!

The other day when I stopped in to see Kasen & his little sis Rylie, he told me that he wanted another poster for his room.. I told Kasen he would have to earn it..
And that he did..

he helped me clean the whole house ;)
What a good little helper :)
I may have to hire him 2 days a week????

I told him to be ready on Friday, 10:00 am sharp and we would go get his poster..

He was ready 10:00 am sharp:)

We had a wonderful time... on the way home we went to the snow shack to get a nice cool yummy snow cone, we also got one for his cousin Jayda bug & went over to her house to enjoy a nice cool treat in the blustery, humid heat..lol

I never ever imagined the joy a grandchild could bring into ones life..
I have 5 little blessings of joy, and cherish every second with them :)

After I dropped off my little shopping partner, my passive ride suddenly morphed into the Guerrilla Friday mobile. She had a mind of her own and was on a swift mission....

A mission to make someones day a little sweeter ;)

and a little happier...

Fantabulous Friday, show & tell

Hi there and welcome!

It's fabulous Friday :) Yep it sure is, and for many it's even more fabulous because of the long weekend!!!
I hope you have some fun plans up yer sleeve ;)

I tried to get this post up a day ago but blogger would not even let me log in... Holy Canoli that sure is a panicky feeling...thank goodness it was temporary.
I have several items over at Ebay on Auction right now, you can view them on my side bar if you like.
But this one I really wanted to share with you, and babble on about..
Might be a good time to get a cup of your fave brew...

From time to time, I create these shadow box style ornies.
I have only created them in a Halloween theme up til now.
I love the depth and scenery you can put into them.. pics never give them their do justice, you just have to hold one in person to see the Magic.
Anyhooloo, I wanted to create something light hearted and whimsical.. This is my vision of where I escape to and meditate when I'm having a grumpy day and really need to fix my attitude.
It is very bright and happy there, you will find BIG trees with fluffy cotton candy like foliage... rolling green hills and sparkling crystal blue ponds, abundant with the most beautiful gold fish you ever did see. If you find the magic yellow balloon, you can fly about this happy land..

The back is finished with lovely clay vines, then painted in beautiful colors.

I was tickled the way it turned out..I hope you like it too.
I'm already making another, and another. One is for my Granddaughters 2 birthday!

He's too quick for me.. I snapped the pic just as he let go.. he has a nice target set up and hits the bulls eye every time at 55 ft.

He's making me a PINK one..lol

We were anxious to try Alan's cook stove.
He made the kids one of these along with cookware all nestled in a bag. It is so convenient, just grab the small bag and go. No messing with propane etc.
I am pleased to say that it is a wonderful, efficient little stove. Cooked our dinner lickety split.

We listened to the creek as we fell fast asleep,

I had to pop in and share my excitement! Mr. Mac and I, are going camping today!!!! I am just beside myself EXCITED... Yep, the butterflies are having a ball in tummy..
We have tried several times to go camping this year, but obsticles seemed to sprout like weeds... I knew we would eventually find our way into the peaceful wilderness.. but I'll tell ya, the anticipation has been dreadfulllllllll !

In the studio I have been working on something new and different...Very Whimsical & fun! I stayed up until 4:00 am then back up at 6:55 am to work on this new piece... Maybe, just maybe with a spoonful of magic, I can show you all a pic of my new piece tomorrow.. Then I would LOVE good old fashioned critique ..lol...

Well, I'm shutting down the studio and computer for the day, and going to stock my truck for our mini trip.

would love to have all of you gather round the campfire for spooky stories and s'mores :)

Yes Mr.Mac had a good talk with Puddles . She told him that the reason she was running away from mom during the last pic session ,was because she didn't like her name.. Mr. Mac said with half a grin, what do you want your name to be.. and with a shyness sort of smile she said " Naomi"

I guess it isn't hard to tell that I was feeling a little colorful & sparkly the past few days in the studio.....
If you were to visit my home, you wouldn't leave without SHINING bright!!! It's EVERYWHERE!!!

This is " Sparkles" I always wanted to create a funky, colorful Snowman.. not sure how well he will be received .. but I had to get him outta my head and into 3-d form..... he is available on Ebay.

This is " Skellie " I love him.. I really do.. sometimes you create something that you almost don't think you can part with.. this little fella tugged on my heart, but you know, we all have to eat so off to Ebay he goes...

I wanted to mention a new little trick I discovered while working on my ornies.. Glitter... I love it, and I use it lots.. I think many folks like it, but may not like the glittery speckles that shed and get everywhere..
most sealers dull the sparkle BUT, Dimensional glaze works fabulous ! I think it even gives the glitter a better, richer finished look... SO FOLKs I will not be spreading the GLITTER LOVE all over your clothes and home anymore.. it will stay put on the ornie.. forever and ever...

Summer Fun & Spagetti O's

Do you remember being young , and it was just days until school let out for Summer break ?
I could hardly stand it.. my belly would be twirling, full of butterflies just waiting to be free.. free for just a few months.. to play , run, swim , anything but arithmetic!

My golly those memories come back so quickly when I pull up to my daughter's house, and see all the kids playing in the yard, under the warm smiling sun.
I like to sit for just a moment and observe the big smiles, the laughter and the pure good fun that the youngsters are so fully partaking in..

Well, I came across this recipe over at Mommys Kitchen and I thought ...(What in the World?) this would be a fun & easy peasy recipe to feed a crowd of kid-lets. Sure beats making 9 zillion sandwiches ;)
Before I make this for my daughter and her little crowd, I thought I should try it and get the Mr. Mac stamp of approval.. because it does sound a little strange ???..lol

Well I'm here to tell you.. this recipe is a Kidlet Krowd Keeper!!!

Every year for the 4th of July celebration Mr. Mac and I love to put together a fun bag for the grandkids.. I will usually decorate the bags up in a fun and festive design and Mr. Mac enjoys picking out the kid friendly fireworks and goodies to put inside.
This year I have tried to stick closely to the motto " Use what you Have" so I searched the net for some fun 4th crafts to make for the grandkids.. 3 of my little angel cakes are under the age of 4..
so this cute hand streamer will be perfect! As for my 9 yr old angle cakes.. I'm still searching..lol I'd better hurry the big celebration will be here before we know it!!

As I meander through the always interesting path of life, one thing that I have come to realize is that, those super duper fantastical & magical days we have just would not exist if we didn't have.... OH, ONE OF THOSE DAYS !!!!

Yep, I had one yesterday... I had a FULL plate for my own errands & chores. Within an hour into my morning coffee, my phone ring- a-linging a tune,what seemed to be every five minutes, I knew my own agenda would not be fulfilled..

All a girl can really do in that situation is to close her eyes, take a deep breath, let go AND.........

BELIEVE IN MAGIC!

She is my youngest granddaughter... and she got bit yesterday by a nasty, mean Hobo Spider..right on her itty bitty arm.. I was so mad at that spider!

After having Oh, one of those days...
I thought it would be extra nice to relax on the computer. I am having a luncheon today for my Father in-law and his wife..
Why, oh why do I always get nervous when I entertain???

Since my recent diagnosis COPD disease, I have sat back and thought about a lot of things. One thing that has inspired me and touched a piece of my heart is, simple acts of kindness.. the things that people do for other people just because...
A few months ago, I happened across my friend Marfi's blog Incipient Wings. I LOVE her blog it is one of my magical places to escape to and be inspired.. Anyways..Marfi is one of those people.. she gives without anything in return..
Every Friday she takes one of her magical works of art and leaves it at some random place in her town.. Can you imagine finding such a special treasure? Especially if you were feeling blue that day, or feeling alone or just having a good day, and your magical find made it even that much better!

I have "been saying" I was going to do this...So I'm taking the "BEEN" out of saying and I'm doing this :)
I come to realize there isn't any time in this life for shoulda, woulda, coulda's.. follow your dreams...inspire others and put a smile on someone's face.

Oh my.. I've had plenty of rest that really did this body, mind & soul good.
I've also had some time to reflect on my art, goals and my creative desires to try new things.
One goal I will share pertains to Ebay & selling my Ornaments and Candy containers. I have always been kinda wishy -washy on when I list and don't list, and sometimes , I would even skip a week or two..
I have come up with a goal to list twice a week.. they will always be 3-day auctions because I like them. I will list on Saturday evenings with auctions ending on Tuesday evenings . My second Listing day will be Thursday evenings, with the auction ending on Sunday evenings.
My shipping days will be Tuesdays & Thursdays.
Hopefully this will give my collectors something to look forward to, and a commitment to myself to keep busy and not get complacent.
The last couple of evenings I've worked late into the night creating a couple of Halloween ornies.. They will be available this evening on Ebay.
Thanks for letting me share my goals with you..

Yesterday morning... a most beautiful...peaceful Sunday morning... The dark clouds were threatening rain... I didn't feel a single drop though, as I made my way very slowly out to the swing to drink my morning coffee and watch the Dandelions grow...

Although I felt a little better when I woke up, it still took me a good 15 minutes to catch my breath from the short walk to the swing...
I came down with strep over a week ago, then it traveled to my lungs, asthma always complicates things a bit, and this time it has really knocked the zap-o-la right outta me... I've never had to fight and gasp for air this badly, where I have secretly wondered to myself if this was the end.. will I ever get better??
I tend to get myself worked up, so I decided I would just relax.. drink my coffee and read some magazines for a bit of inspiration.

But then , what generally happens when you start finding inspiration...
It makes me get inspired & I start drifting off into dreamland with ideas bouncing off of every little nook and cranny of my brain.

Keeping in my mind that this years motto for our home is to use what you have..
I decided to try to tackle a very, very small project!
I can tell you small isn't small enough when you cant breathe..
My part #1 of this project,To create a walkway pass through for the kids and mail man to cut across our yard, probably should have taken at the tops 1 hour for the non-sickly-poo type of person... Holy smokes...
Yep folks, 4 hours later, and I have managed to raked out a 3x3 ft. space and add some very old tongue & groove planking and a few pavers..
A girl has to break to breathe...

On either side of the little walkway pass through, I have added triple layers of weed & grass landscaping barrier.. I started adding stone and river rock..
Although, I was only able to accomplish part #1 of my tiny project, it felt SOOOOOOOO good to at least accomplish a little.

Today is much like yesterday...clouds, cool air, and I can here a few rain drops by the window as I type...
I'm thinking part #2 ???

Rest is Good...

I have been resting this week... Not that I wanted too, but because I have had too..

I finally gave in and let go of my stubbornness.

I let go just enough... to find peace in relaxing.

So, I guess rest is GOOD!

When my body has had the rest it needs, I'll be back in my studio creating...

GOSH I hope that is soon..

till then, I'll be a GOOD rest*er!

Arts A Flutter For June = July ! It's true, and has had me all mixed up this month. Maybe it's because I get a Big brain fog when it comes to creating for the 4th of July. I've always just stuck a flag in my flower pots and called it good. I've been racking my marbles, to every far corner of my brain searching for just a wee little red,white & blue idea for my upcoming AAF update. There's no way I would miss an update without a good reason. Well, I was so wrapped up in red,white & blue in the brain, that I had myself thoroughly convinced the new month coming up was July, I even plum forgot it was my Birthday last week .. Gasp!! how could anyone forget their birthday? That is a day of Yum-Dilly-umptious cake to share with family & friends, newly found wrinkles to put more wrinkle cream on, and ... more wisdom under yer belt to uphold the grand-ma-ma status ! No need to fear......

My sweet hubby is here, to reminded me that I was going to be another year older;)
So I am now older and wiser and well, I think I did see one new wrinkle .... hmmmmmmm?
I guess getting one year older and wiser triggered a light bulb to turn on in my brain!!!! All I can say is YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Well why not a patriotic Snowman! Complete with a red,white & blue paper hat ;) Who cant resist a snowman in the middle of the hot summer?

It is such an amazing and very inspirational site to behold, when a child is expressing their uninhibited imagination in their world of creativity.
My niece Kylie, has been working on her first Art Doll! Every Saturday I have an Arts and Craft day at my house and Kylie has been joining in for the last 3 Saturdays. Might I add... what a Joy & bucket full of inspiration she is, I have enjoyed her so much! In this pic she is putting the final touches on her doll...

Isn't he the cutest little doll you have ever seen!!!
Kylie is interested in, all forms of Art. She can dance,sing, she has a great acting career ahead of her if that is what she chooses. Kylie also loves to paint, take pictures, and is now learning how to matt and frame her own art pieces.
I am very inspired by the way her dad supports and encourages Kylie in all of her talents.
Kylie wanted to learn how to work with paper mache and clay, so her first project was this darling doll created from paper mache.

I don't think there is anything more rewarding on Planet Earth, then to see the sheer joy in a child's face, of the accomplishement of completion, of their creative vision.

I am looking so forward to our next Art Day Saturday!

Update: Albert, didn't make it to the Bootique.. A loving family really wanted him to go live at their house, so I packed his bags and he will be traveling across America this Tuesday ;)
I wont have anything for the Bootique update since Albert is leaving, but please check out all the other Queens offerings on JUNE 1st. .. They are spectacular!!!!

Evening Drive...

Mr. Mac and I were bored senseless.Not that we didn't have deadlines to meet, or an over grown lawn to mow. Those things just didn't sound fun at the time, we wanted adventure!!! So, we decided to go for a drive... We went up to our favorite campground site just see how much water was up there. The creek that runs through the campground was roaring, and a couple of camp sites were closed due to flooding, but many more were open and perfect, just waiting for the big weekend..and sooo perfect, that every one of them was reserved. Sorry, I didn't get pics of the campground, but if you look at the pic above and see the mountains in the background that should give you an idea of where we were.
We continued our trek out west, a few miles out of town. I had heard from Mr. Mac that the Bear River was really high, and I really wanted to see with my own two eyeballs how high it really was.. Well gad darn.... It was the highest i had ever seen in my 45 years of life! There once was a boat dock, and a road, and paths, and a bank to sit on while fishing for that big Catfish????

I guess we could fish from the bridge?

We drove down a little further and across the highway to another favorite spot we like to fish on the Bear River. Along the sides of the river used to be nice embankments to sit upon while cooking a can of Ravioli's in the campfire.We could still do that, but we would have to fish by the campfire on the road. Not so sure that would go over well with the Fish & Game..lol

Well heck, I had a blast of a time with Mr.Mac!!! And I love all the pics he took for me on his phone.
We headed back to town, hung a sharp left into the local grocery store to pick up some Moose tracks ice cream to finish the night off.

WIP-ing things up!

A week of rainy, and much cooler weather, has temporarily taken me away from my porch project to the cozy indoor warmth of my studio. It is a good thing that it has been rainy because I tend to loose track of time, and just around the corner are several upcoming deadlines.. Thanks for saving my butt Mr. Rain ;)
I've had a blast working with my new sculpting tools as I was down to my fingernail and a straight pin for my tools.
The above pics are some creations I am working on for the Queens Bootique and Ebay. I have added bodies to the spooky heads since this pic, but I think I will save the end results to share just before they become available for purchase.

I thought I would share this pic of a WIP. I purchased both the wooden mask and the cool tray at a second hand store. When I took the wooden mask up to the cash register, the clerk was totally freaked out by it. She told me it was SOoooo scary, and I said with oodles of excitement "Yes it is, I love it " She looked at me like I was the Devil in disguise . I had to chuckle to myself, little does she know that I am a Halloween artist and will transform the mask into something even more spookier..BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
I loved the tray and could not pass it up. I have given it a base coat, and am anxious to paint a Hallo*Weeny design.

My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the community of Joplin, Missouri.
I cant even imagine the sheer terror, and the immense suffering and pain that has hit the town in a matter of seconds.
My sweet fellow artist and friend Lisa, who has touched me deeply through her art, words of encouragement and great humor, lives in Joplin. I am so thankful that she and her family are safe.
My prayers go up for all of the many communties that have been raveged by the tornadoes and flooding this Spring.

I Forgot!

I have had so much fun this past week with Alan being on Vacation, that I forgot to list my weekly auctions on Ebay !
We have been focusing mainly on getting the outside cleaned up and haven't done a whole lot of Art. I thought I had better get this lute listed before I have to start dusting them ;)

Trailing along in third, is my LAST EVER hand carved Gourd Santa... I found that I am highly allergic to the gourd dust that is created while carving... so for now on it will be sculpted gourd Santa's. This fellow is Springy and cheerful and a little late since Easter has come and gone. However, I thought that would not matter to the Santa Collector.

Nannie Dianie Retires!

My little Angels is what I call them! They are certainly a gift from heaven. My Hubby and I, have taken care of the middle three since they were newborn bundles of joy.. Four days a week they fill our quiet house with giggles & laughter, pidder pattering of feet, and at times a bit of crying. They bring much joy to my Hubby and I. This pic is my favorite, it was taken on a Sunday dinner day, and I had over indulged in sooo much good food that I had to lay down for just a minute before even thinking of doing the dishes, within minutes, one by one, my little Angels joined me.
As times are tough for so many right now, it is also true for my household.. I've had to make a very difficult decision based on several issues, one being that I need more time to create art, and sell art to contribute our finances, more time to keep my house and yard up, and mostly which is the hardest and most painful to admit, is my deteriorating knees.
I spoke with my daughters the other day to let them know that in a month I would not be watching the little ones anymore.
It was the hardest thing I had to do in quite awhile. The daughter that I thought would take the news the best.. cried. I felt so bad :(
I will miss having the little ones running through the house on a week to week basis, but will definitely look forward to their monthly sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's.

Have you noticed that I've been playing hookie from the studio lately... It's SPRING and...
My Fugly Front Porch has been calling my name, saying, " It's time for a Re-do!!!"

Can you believe that this is how we have been welcoming our guests? The grandkids think it's very COOL!..lol...

There was a time..about 6 years ago to be exact, that I was partial to GREEN... Not So Much Anymore!

I never really cared for this type of railing, and I don't have the funds to replace it at this time. But I'm sure there is something we can do on a frugal budget that will look better then it is right now, dont'cha think?

We had a lovely week of Spring weather... I am not so sure what the temps were, but all I know, is it was warm & beautiful!

I have been anxiously awaiting for the temps to be warm enough to sink my fingers into the dirt, and that is just what I did on Friday morning :) I have many flower beds to clean out, spiff up and prepare for new flowers and bark.
My goal was to get the front flower bed done on Friday, minus the planting of the flowers and bark.. I'll do the planting after Memorial day ;)

I had to get a little creative and repaint a few of my garden and yard decor'. I am sticking with the "use what you have" motto as much as possible this year, so I went down to the storage room, dug real deep and found some spray paint..

And when my husband came home from work he said 3 words, " Everything's real Yellow" Then my mother came over to visit and she said one word " YELLOW" I am re- thinking the use what you have motto..lol...
Needless to say, I spent art day Saturday toning down all the yellow....?????

" Boo Magic "

Remember a few posts ago, I showed you a pic of my whimsical piece I was working on for a local Art Show/ Contest called " See the Magic ". Well, here he is " Boo Magic " He just recently returned home from the show with a few credits under his belt.

I was tickled orange & so honored to have won 1st place in the 3-d arts division and 1st place in peoples choice.
I am, what I call and underground artist..lol I have always stayed on the down-low in my community as far as art goes. I love to visit the museum and go to the local plays, but i really have not shared with many in my hometown, what comes to life in my studio. In the past years I have sold my work online, and I guess that is where I chose to promote my work.

I entered my " Boo Magic " and was delighted and honored to know, that my work touched a magical place in the communities heart.
It is a feeling that is priceless.

On May 1st. at 12:00 noon Eastern time, On the Halloween Queens Castle Bootique " Boo Magic " will be looking for a new home to sprinkle his whimsies of Halloween magic !

Art's A Fluttering in May!

Hi all ! I had to take a moment and share this sweet photo of my granddaughter Jayda. She is posing here with the cake she and her daddy made for her mommy. She is sooo proud.
Today I had the great pleasure to watch Jayda while Mom & dad were at work, and she brought some of her yummy cake to share. It was scrum-dilly-umptious!!!! All I can say is... Move over Rachael Ray, this 21 month old baker is taking over!! Lol...

" Lilly " is my new May offering for "Arts A Flutter". She is lovely, Sassy and Gothic and will be available for adoption tomorrow, 1:00 pm pacific time.
I really enjoyed creating this sweetie. I sculpted her atop an old handmade glass bottle stopper and was so pleased with the way she turned out. I hope you like her too!

Littlest Witch Of the West

Before I reveal my newest Ebay auction, I wanted to share this Scrum-dilly-umptious recipe!
We were having all the kids over for Easter dinner, and this year I wanted to serve something different then the traditional Ham that I generally serve. One of my favorite sites to find recipes is Allrecipe.com. I ran across this Chicken florentine recipe and it sounded so yummy I tried it. IT was sooooo good, and such a hit.
I will mention that if you are watching your waistline or fat intake, saddly this is definitley not the recipe, but once in awhile, i dont think it would hurt. Here's the recipe Chicken Florentine.
Note: I changed one thing, I used fresh spinach in place of canned.

I Love creating these little ornies, In fact, I think they may possibly be my favorite, and have more on the work table in the magical process of creation.
